Feed Me and Burn Me!

Hey everybody, I am changing my RSS feed.  So for all you RSS readers out there, it is time to change your RSS code.  I have switched my feed to FeedBurner in order to take EVERYONE with me at one time.  So, you need to delete my old feed and grab the new feed over to the left under "Feed Me".  Or just paste this into your RSS Reader...

New Look and Old Love

So today at Saddleback was a freakin' blast!  It was great to be back and see so many of my friends not only from SB but from around the country at the conference.  I will also be there tomorrow to hang so I'll be looking for you Pat!

So what do you think of the new look and pic?  Do you likey?  That pic was taken last year at the Worship Festival I do every year in Brazil.

Wanna shout out to my peep Los who showed me how to do the new banner while we enjoyed a very great hang together.  I needed my Los love and he needed some Rockalot lovin'.   He got a little frisky but nobody saw us.   Thanks for the hang bro, I miss you and your bride Heather.  We need to get the girls together soon.

I'm Back in the Saddle....back...Again

Hey everyone, sorry it's been a while since my last post.  You know how it is, so little time and so many excuses.  For those who are interested and would like to attend I will be leading worship at Saddleback's Worship Conference tomorrow during the morning session at 8:30a in the Main Worship Center.  I will be hanging out most of the day and would love to hook up with any of you who are in town for the conference.  Email me and we can get together.  Loveyameanit --- J

New Album Review

Decyfer Down is a North Carolina based band that just released their debut album "End Of Grey."  I really like this band and think they did extremely well on their Freshman attempt.  The album rocks hard and is very well written and produced.  If you are interested you can check out their MySpace page.  It's a very cool page.  You can grab their tunes on iTunes and most every place you shop for music.  I give this album 4 1/2 out of 5 stars.

Father's Day Preview

This video is a tribute to all the fathers out there who struggle with gagaphobia.  I know that Mary Beth and I had 10 years of kids in diapers and there were more than a few times that we both felt this way.

A Favorite Quote

One of my all time favorite quotes comes from (believe it or not) Sugar Ray Leonard.  He said,

Out of the Mouths of Babes

My wife and I went out on a date last night.  We ate sushi and got a manicure and pedicure together.  Yes, I know I'm Metro.  At least I will admit it.  But I warn you guys, if you get a pedicure ONE time you will be hooked for life.  Ok, enough of that.  Back to the point.  So, our babysitter was putting our children to bed last night and she was singing to our 3rd child Spencer who is 5.  They were singing "Mary Had a Little Lamb" and afterward she said, "Spencer, you sing good.  You should be a rock star!"  "I don't want to be a rock star," he said.  "But your dad is a rock star," she said.  To which he replied,"No he's not.  He just plays, sings, and yells C'MON!"  So there you have it, out of the mouth of babes.

This Weekend

This weekend was a powerful service at Coast Hills.  The music was awesome (of course) and the message was penetrating.  It was based on the Rich Young Ruler.  Here is the scripture verse:

The Rich Young Ruler 
17 As Jesus started on his way, a man ran up to him and fell on his knees before him. "Good teacher," he asked, "what must I do to inherit eternal life?"

18 "Why do you call me good?" Jesus answered. "No one is good—except God alone. 19 You know the commandments: 'Do not murder, do not commit adultery, do not steal, do not give false testimony, do not defraud, honor your father and mother.'"

20 "Teacher," he declared, "all these I have kept since I was a boy."

21 Jesus looked at him and loved him. "One thing you lack," he said. "Go, sell everything you have and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven. Then come, follow me."

22 At this the man's face fell. He went away sad, because he had great wealth.

The main point here is when asked by Jesus to give up everything and follow Him, the Rich Young Ruler went away sad because he had great wealth.  He wasn't willing to give everything up.  The REAL reason he was asking Jesus what he must do to have eternal life was because HE WANTED TO KNOW THE MINIMUM REQUIREMENT. 

Are you giving up everything for Jesus or just getting by on the minimum requirement?
